Reflection

This week were given the time to work on with things for our project, I found this very helpful as i was getting a bit overwhelmed with the workload. I felt myself slipping behind and wanted to get on top of it.

I used the time to work on my brand guidelines. I found this the most challenging from the tasks we had been given because I wanted the design to be simple but still show my brand.

Brand Guidelines

I designed these in Figma and here is what I initially had, however I felt these were too busy and I wanted my design to be clear and concise and effectively communicate the brand's visual identity, voice, and messaging.

I then decided to strip all patterns and imagery away as I felt these were maybe the problem.

I used the colours to show the branding throughout the document and I feel this really helped to keep the design simple yet effective.

I then began by deciding what information should be included in the document, such as logo usage, typography, colour palette, imagery, application, and tone of voice. I included everything I felt is necessary for my brand. Next I had to come up with a layout that is clear, easy to read, and visually appealing. I used the layout grid feature in Figma to help with this.

I used visuals such as images, icons and photography to communicate my brand's visual identity.

Here is the final design.
