Reflection

We began this week by looking at our new brief for the remainder of the semester which includes creating a dashboard of a week in our life. We also must submit a style guide along with this including our typeface, colour scheme, logo, icons etc. I’m looking forward to completing this brief as I feel data visualisation is a very employable skill and extremely effective.

Critique

For this critique we were asked to upload a prototype of our music app and a mock up to a miro board.

Here is the mock up I submitted, however during the critique I picked up on a few things that had been mentioned to other people such as including login and sign up buttons and the size of icons and labelling.

My lecturer gave me a few points to consider which included sizing up my labels in my footer and involving more of the brand in the UI. After looking at my designs while having these critiques in my head I completely agree.

I decided to edit my loading screen to include the brand name as it wasn’t made clear before, I also added log in and sign up buttons. I feel this new loading screen is a lot more effective than the previous.

It was also suggested that I bring in more of the brand colour coral in to my screens. I decided to add a background behind my slider on the home screen and I feel this makes my app a lot more unique and less standard to other apps.
