Ideation

To start my new project, I employed techniques learned in class to brainstorm for ideas. I began by creating a mind map, jotting down every thought that surfaced, regardless of its initial quality, aiming to stimulate a flow of ideas. I focused on various major sectors and branched out from there. This exploration led me to delve into sustainability, particularly in the context of shopping for and discovering sustainable fashion. I contemplated the prospect of integrating these concepts into a unified mobile application.

Branding

To begin my branding I decided to come up with a name, because of the short time frame I resorted to ChatGPT for this, however the suggestions it was giving weren’t aligning with my vision so I used these as inspiration and came up with the name Seamless.

I felt the name "Seamless" was fitting for my app as it captures the essence of its purpose. By aiming to streamline and simplify the process of finding sustainable fashion online, the app provides a seamless experience for users. The term "seamless" implies smoothness and efficiency, highlighting the app's goal of making sustainable fashion easily accessible without the need for exhaustive searches. It conveys the idea of a fluid and effortless shopping experience, where users can navigate through exclusively sustainable clothing options tailored to their preferences. Overall, "Seamless" encapsulates the app's commitment to eliminating complexities and uncertainties related to the sustainability of fashion products.

After finalising the name, I proceeded to select a colour palette for Seamless. I utilised Coolers to explore different colour combinations, aiming to discover an initial palette that resonated with the brand. Typically, I'd adjust and fine-tune colours to align precisely with my vision. Yet, I found myself particularly drawn to three specific colours during this process. I felt a strong connection with these colours and decided to retain them, as they harmonised exceptionally well and reflected the essence of the brand effectively.

Next, I delved into crafting a logo mark. I aimed for a design that symbolised sustainability without being overly dominant. Opting for a pair of leaves, I sensed that this choice perfectly embodied the essence of the brand. Initially uncertain about how to integrate them into the brand identity, I experimented with various approaches. This involved attempting to fashion the 's' in "Seamless" from the leaves and even exploring a logo with stitching on the S. During this process, I eventually incorporated stitching onto the leaves, a move that felt like an ideal fit for the brand.

I began crafting my presentation, capitalising on the groundwork I had laid out earlier. I commenced by outlining the sequence I wished to follow and detailing the content for each section, drawing from the research I had diligently conducted.
