The naming process began through a mind-mapping exercise, exploring key themes that sat at the core of the project. Words such as technique, improvement, control, injury prevention, and movement were central, alongside emotional outcomes like confidence, trust, reassurance, and progress.
As these ideas developed, a clear pattern emerged around the concept of understanding — both physically (how a movement should look and feel) and mentally (confidence in performing it correctly). This led to the name Clarity, which captures the idea of removing uncertainty from dance training.
Initially, I explored the name Clarté (the French word for clarity), influenced by the strong connection between French terminology and ballet. However, I decided to move forward with the English version, as it is easier to pronounce and more immediately accessible to a wider audience.
The name reflects multiple layers of the product:
Overall, Clarity felt simple, memorable, and aligned with both the functional and emotional goals of the product — supporting dancers in feeling more confident, informed, and in control of their training.
