Reflecting on this module, I found that delving deeper into the realm of user experience (UX) greatly enriched my understanding and approach to design. Learning about UX principles and methodologies provided valuable insights that directly influenced many of my decisions throughout the module. Understanding user needs, preferences, and behaviours became a guiding force in my design process, enabling me to create more intuitive and user-centric solutions.
However, one challenge I encountered was the struggle to narrow down my focus when creating my own brief. The vastness of the healthcare sector posed a significant hurdle, making it challenging to select a specific area to explore. This indecision led to a block in my progress, causing me to fall behind initially. Nevertheless, I was able to overcome this obstacle by revisiting my research, refining my objectives, and seeking guidance from peers and instructors. This experience taught me the importance of clarity and specificity in defining project scopes, ensuring that goals remain achievable and manageable.
Looking ahead, I recognise the value of incorporating one-on-one interviews into my user research process and conducting usability testing to validate design decisions. These methods offer opportunities to gain deeper insights into user perspectives, preferences, and pain points, ultimately leading to more informed design solutions. By integrating these techniques into my future projects, I aim to further enhance the effectiveness and impact of my designs, ultimately striving to create experiences that truly resonate with users.
