Reflecting on Ixd 304 module on Narrative and Storytelling, there were several aspects that stood out to me. One of the highlights was discovering a newfound appreciation for typography during the redesign phase of my project. Exploring different typefaces and experimenting with typography allowed me to enhance the visual storytelling aspect of my project, which was both enjoyable and rewarding. Additionally, the process of prototyping was another aspect that I particularly enjoyed. Creating interactive prototypes helped me visualize my ideas and iterate on them effectively.
However, I encountered some challenges along the way, particularly during the middle stages of the module. I hit a creative block that caused me to fall behind in my work temporarily. Overcoming this hurdle required perseverance and resilience, but I ultimately managed to push through and regain momentum in my project.
Throughout the module, I found the guest lectures to be incredibly helpful. Hearing from industry professionals provided valuable insights and inspiration, which I was able to apply to my own work. Learning from their experiences and perspectives broadened my understanding of narrative and storytelling in design.
Looking back, there are a few things I would do differently next time. Firstly, I would prioritize self-care and try to avoid burnout by managing my time more effectively and taking regular breaks. This would allow me to maintain a healthy balance between my academic workload and personal well-being. Additionally, I would engage in more sketching and ideation before diving into digital work. Sketching is a valuable tool for generating ideas and exploring different concepts, and I believe it would benefit my creative process in future projects.
Overall, despite the challenges I faced, I found the Ixd 304 module to be a valuable learning experience. It provided me with the opportunity to explore narrative and storytelling in design, expand my skills, and grow as a designer. I am excited to apply the knowledge and insights gained from this module to future projects and continue my journey in the field of interaction design.
