After I developed my project outline, I wanted to understand the purpose of this digital product and how it could improve the GP booking process. Through research and creating a journey map, I identified various issues contributing to the challenges. These included the need to call the practice, often only staffed by one person, leading to delays on the phones. Several factors, like language barriers, high call volumes, and technical problems, could cause further delays. If patients could book appointments through an app, it would simplify the process and free up phone lines, particularly benefiting people like the elderly who may not be comfortable with technology.

I aim to develop a platform that alleviates the hassle of having to call or visit your GP practice unnecessarily. To start, I created a mind map outlining everything I believed would be valuable to incorporate into the app. This expanded beyond mere appointment booking to encompass various features such as prescription requests, accessing medical records, viewing test results, and more. The goal was to offer users a comprehensive solution that streamlines their interactions with healthcare services, providing convenience and peace of mind.
